Encouraging creativity, nurturing talent, and providing opportunities for unlimited student expression — these are essential to igniting the spark of genius in every child and integral to a Dwight education.

We start in Pre-School with exposure to the fundamentals of art and continue through grade 12 with deeper learning in history, theory, and technique.

STUDENTS SHARE ARTISTRY IN WORLD-CLASS VENUES

Every year, students from across the global network of Dwight schools perform together at iconic concert halls around the world. Students have the opportunity to audition to perform alongside their peers from Dwight’s global campuses at this annual Global Music Festival. Every other year, the concert is hosted in New York at iconic venues like Carnegie Hall and Lincoln Center, while the performance goes global in alternating years, hosted on a prestigious stage in Dubai, London, Seoul, Shanghai, or Hanoi.

It is Dwight’s philosophy that all young people are artists, and we strive to inspire their artistic expression through access to as many disciplines and forms as possible.

  • The visual arts program encourages students to discover their own unique view of the world and the skills to express it. They explore the full range of visual media, including painting, sculpture, textiles, printmaking, installations, photography, filmmaking, and digital arts.
  • The visual arts program at Dwight School Hanoi serves to develop innovative thinking and creative use of technologies, and in so doing, prepares students to participate fully in this multifaceted world.

Dwight students learn about the theater arts both on and behind the stage, experiencing a rigorous and rewarding program based on professional theater studies.

  • Productions each season include classics, world-theater, and modern plays, as well as musicals and original student works.
  • These productions and classes offer students the opportunity to develop specific individual interests while gaining invaluable practical experience in performing, producing, directing, and stagecraft.

Dwight establishes a strong music education foundation, encouraging students to appreciate music as a truly international language and to carry that sense of wonder through the rest of their lives.

Students are supported in responding to their own and other artists’ works and processes, and in so doing develop the skills of critical analysis, interpretation, evaluation, reflection and communication. Students will demonstrate knowledge and understanding of the concepts, methods and elements of music, including using specialized language. Students consider their own and other artists’ works in context and from different perspectives in order to construct meaning and inform their own future works and processes.

Specialty arts spaces around campus include:

  • Dedicated visual art spaces for all divisions
  • Fashion design, photography, and ceramics studios
  • Black box theater
  • Music conservatory
  • Recording studios
  • Rehearsal spaces
