A Decade of Nurturing Young Learners
For more than 11 years, Moni has been inspiring young learners in early years and primary classrooms around the world. Holding a Master's degree in Education specializing in Globalized Education, degrees in Psychology and Spanish, teaching qualifications in both the United States and the United Kingdom, and extensive International Baccalaureate professional learning, she brings a wealth of experience to Dwight School Hanoi. As an IB Diploma graduate herself, she also understands the learner journey from both a student's and an educator's perspective.
Moni's own journey into teaching began while studying at university, where she worked with adult English language learners alongside completing her degrees. Those experiences quickly became the highlight of her week, inspiring her to pursue teaching internationally and build a career helping learners of all ages discover their potential.
Every Child Learns Differently
For Moni, one of the greatest joys of education is discovering what makes each child unique. She believes there is no single way to learn, which is why she takes the time to understand every student's interests, strengths, and individual learning style. By creating meaningful learning experiences that build on children's natural curiosity, she helps them develop confidence, independence, and a genuine love of learning while fostering a classroom community where every child feels valued and supported.
An Open Mind for Lifelong Learning
Looking back on her own education, Moni wishes her teachers had told her that there is no single way to learn or demonstrate understanding. Today, she encourages children to keep an open mind about how they learn, what they believe they can achieve, and the different ways they can express their ideas. She believes that when students are willing to explore new approaches and challenge their own assumptions, they often surprise themselves with what they are capable of.
