With five years of teaching experience across middle and high school, Annie is passionate about making mathematics more accessible and helping students build confidence in their own abilities. Holding a Master of Education and a Teach Now Certification, she believes that every student can succeed when they feel supported, challenged, and encouraged to grow.

Teaching in different countries has reinforced Annie's belief that every student learns differently. While cultures and classrooms may vary, she has found that taking the time to understand each student's needs, experiences, and perspectives creates the foundation for meaningful learning. By building strong relationships and creating a supportive environment, Annie encourages students to challenge themselves and believe in their own abilities.

Making Mathematics More Approachable

For Annie, success is not measured by students becoming mathematicians, it's about helping them overcome their fear of the subject. One of her proudest moments came when a Grade 12 student told her, "You really made me not hate math, not saying I love it though." Another former student, who initially lacked confidence in mathematics, went on to choose DP Analysis and Approaches Mathematics as part of their goal of becoming a pilot. These experiences continue to remind Annie that small gains in confidence can have a lasting impact.

Learning for Life

If Annie could give one piece of advice to her younger self, it would be to stay consistent and avoid leaving things until the last minute. She believes that steady progress, built through small daily efforts, is far more effective than a last-minute rush, a lesson she still reminds herself of today.

Through patience, consistency, and genuine care for her students, Annie hopes to create a classroom where learners feel supported to take risks, ask questions, and discover that mathematics is more accessible than they ever imagined.
