Learning Support
The Quest Department provides learning support through collaborating with students, teachers, parents, and external experts to facilitate children's learning their diverse learning requirements. Our focus is on assisting students with mild to moderate learning differences. Identification of students eligible for learning support occurs during the admission process or through our internal referral procedures. The provision of learning support varies based on the students' specific support needs, including group size, support type, and frequency. Tailored Student Learning Plans (SLPs) and regular progress reports are created according to each student's identified level of support. Students are paired with dedicated learning support specialists who act as liaisons between the homeroom teacher, parents, and external specialists.

Our services encompass a wide range of offerings, such as:

  • Intensive instruction in reading, writing, spelling, and phonics skills.
  • Fundamental mathematics skill development.
  • Enhancement of fine motor, gross motor, and graphomotor skills.
  • Assistance with organizational skills and executive functioning.

English Language Learners

Dwight is focused on educating the whole child. Our English Language Learning program is made available to students who benefit from additional time with our expert faculty to support them accessing learning in English. Our English Language Learning program is personalized for each student. We acknowledge students' strengths and weaknesses, as well as their learning style and speed to provide a structured program that is delivered by trained and specialist EAL educators to maximize each student’s academic potential.

The content in each of the ELL program is organized into four interrelated strands: Listening and Speaking, Reading, Writing, and Socio-cultural Competence and Media Literacy. Effective instructional activities blend expectations from the four strands in order to provide English language learners with the kinds of experiences that promote meaningful learning and that help students recognize how language and literacy skills in the four strands overlap and strengthen one another.

Exceptional Talent

Quest facilitates flexible learning structures to allow students to pursue exceptional talents. Additionally, Quest will provide expert teachers for students who would benefit from enrichment in a specific academic discipline.
