Supporting the Well-Being of Every Student
Emma brings eight years of experience working in school settings, supporting students from Kindergarten through Grade 12, as well as young adults and families. Before transitioning into education, she worked within the child protection system, providing therapeutic support to children and their families. Emma holds an undergraduate degree in Psychology and a Master of Science in Medicine, specializing in reproductive health in therapy and education. She is passionate about creating safe, supportive environments where every student feels valued, understood, and empowered to succeed.
A Global Perspective on Well-Being
Having lived and worked in different countries, Emma has developed a deep appreciation for the ways culture shapes our beliefs, values, and experiences. She believes that understanding each student's cultural background is essential to supporting their mental health and well-being, particularly in an international school community. Emma looks forward to learning from the perspectives of families in Vietnam while continuing to build meaningful relationships across the Dwight community.
Creating a Safe Space
Emma believes the Counseling Department plays a vital role in school life by providing a welcoming environment where students feel heard, respected, and supported. She knows that when students feel secure in their mental health and emotional well-being, they are better able to succeed academically, build positive relationships, and navigate the challenges of growing up with confidence.
Every Student Deserves to Be Heard
Emma wants every student to know that they never have to face challenges alone. Whether they are experiencing academic pressures, difficulties with friendships, or concerns outside of school, she believes there is always someone at Dwight ready to listen and help. Her goal is to ensure that every student feels comfortable asking for support and knows they are part of a caring community that values their well-being.
