Rob has been teaching internationally for 20 years, and throughout that time he has had the opportunity to work with students from all over the world. Although it’s difficult for him to choose just one favorite memory, he often reflects on how much he has learned through the stories, perspectives, and experiences his students have shared with him. These moments have enriched his life and deepened his appreciation for the opportunities he has had, both as a teacher and as a learner alongside his students.
Inspired by Family and Teachers
Rob’s pathway into teaching began early. With older siblings and becoming an uncle at a young age, he quickly realised that he had a natural ability to communicate with teenagers and young people. Combined with the influence of teachers in his own life, those who made learning fun, meaningful, and memorable, he felt inspired to pursue a career in education.
Modeling a Life in Balance
Rob models the behaviours he wants to see in his students and believes in a healthy balance between intellectual, physical, and emotional wellbeing. He stays active through regular exercise, including gym workouts, tennis, and swimming. Most of all, he treasures time with his young daughter, who fills his days with joy. Seeing the world through her eyes reminds him to stay curious, playful, and grounded, qualities that also enrich his teaching.
