As a child, Hien dreamed of reading many books and exploring the world. Watching her aunt and sisters become teachers helped her see how meaningful the profession truly is. Teachers not only explore knowledge themselves, they also guide others in discovering new horizons. This realization inspired Hien to become a teacher, and to this day, she knows it was the right choice. She feels fulfilled when she witnesses her students’ growth, progress, and confidence, and she believes her own happiness and passion help her create a safe, joyful, and inspiring learning environment where every child can thrive.
Encouraging Young Learners
Hien aims to help students make sense of the world and express themselves with confidence. Seeing their curiosity grow and hearing their thoughtful questions keeps her passion alive every day.
For Hien, learning is never one-directional, her students inspire her, challenge her, and help her grow alongside them. When a shy student finally participates, or when someone proudly shares their writing, it reaffirms exactly why she loves this job.
A Memorable Teaching Moment
One of Hien’s fondest teaching memories is of a girl who joined her class and struggled to communicate or connect with others. To support her, Hien paired her with a kind peer buddy, spent one-on-one time helping her feel comfortable, and listened gently and patiently. She encouraged the student to share ideas in class and offered small but meaningful opportunities for her to express herself.
After just two months, the student began to open up, participating more, smiling more, and even presenting in front of the class independently. Watching her transformation from a shy learner to a confident, engaged student was truly heartwarming and reminded Hien of the power of empathy and encouragement.
Life Beyond School
Balance for Hien means nurturing both mind and body while cherishing time with her family. She enjoys nature and outdoor activities like going to the park, cycling, and swimming with her three-year-old daughter. They love reading, playing, and creating together.
A passionate lifelong learner, Hien regularly takes part in workshops and training to continue growing as an educator.
